Lima Young Professionals

The Lima Young Professionals is a diverse group of business leaders, 40 years of age or under, committed to building relationships and retaining talent among the young professionals in the greater Lima area.  The Lima YP seeks to give Lima’s Young Professionals a voice in our community, our businesses and ultimately in our future.

The Lima YP offers members access to other young professionals, community leaders and businesses throughout Allen County.  Through the variety of events, and programs we host throughout the year, our members grow personally and professionally making valuable business and social contacts.

Lima YP Action Committees:

Leadership Board:

The Lima YP is governed by an executive committee comprised of YP nominated volunteers, our President, Vice President and Secretary serve as the executive committee and the remaining board members are our Committee Chairs.

Community Engagement:

Volunteer/community based arm of the Lima YP.  This committee developed and hosts the Lima YP Green Tie Affair annually, spearheads the I Love Lima community outreach program, provides a link to our YPs and community volunteer opportunities such as RALLY, 1ByYouth, Rally in the Square, and several others.  This committee is also the parent group for our YP Mayor’s Cabinet which meets quarterly with the City of Lima’s Mayor to discuss local initiatives, new projects or programs and how the Lima YP can get involved or just get educated on the City’s on-goings.

Professional Development:

Educational arm of the Lima YP.  Monthly luncheons are developed to address relative community hot topics, learn about specific industries or tour local businesses.  This committee arranges community leaders to speak on each month’s theme, secures a location which coincides with the speaker and topic, as well as obtain lunch donations.  This committee places our YPs in the heart of the community by showing them what is in their own “backyard.”

Social Development:

Social arm of the Lima YP.  This committee hosts the Lima YP Breakfast Club and Pub Club.  The Breakfast Club is a Friday Networking group which meets every other month.  On opposite months Pub Club is held and is a Friday night After Hours event which features different bars and restaurants every other month.  This committee is also responsible for YP group-based social activities, i.e.: Battle of Ohio football trip.

Membership Committee:

Recruiting and retention arm of the program.  This committee prospects for YP members, welcomes members and serves as an ambassador to the community and our program.  To download a membership application, click here.

Marketing Committee:

Public relations arm.  This group develops the Lima YP Chamber Spotlight with our local radio stations, developed and maintains the limayp.com, as well as the social media presence on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.  This committee develops PSAs for upcoming programming as well as market our events and the Lima YP organization.
